Georgian Finance Minister Lasha Khutsishvili presented the draft of the 2025 state budget to parliament.
– The total expenditure for the 2025 consolidated budget is projected to be GEL 32.4 billion, reflecting an increase of over GEL 1.2 billion from the previous year.
– In 2025, up to GEL 8 billion will be allocated for infrastructure development.
– More than GEL 8.67 billion is earmarked for healthcare and social protection programs, with social assistance for targeted population groups rising to GEL 1.639 billion GEL.
– The budget allocates over GEL 3.95 billion for education and science in 2025, accounting for more than 12% of the total budget. Additionally, salaries for public school administrative personnel and security staff are set to increase by 10%.
– Following the 2022 amendments to the legislation governing civil servant salaries, a 10% increase for employees in budgetary organizations is also planned for 2025.
