Georgian State Electro System starts construction of 4 new power transmission lines.
Power transmission lines of Lajanuri-Tskaltubo, Namakhvani-Tskaltubo, Namakhvani-Tvishi-Lajanuri and Lajanuri-Lajanuri HPP will be built with the financial support of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).
Power transmission lines in Racha and Imereti regions will be built by Indian company Larsen and Toubro. Construction work will begin in 2023 and be completed in 2025.
The project is part of the Energy Network Improvement Programme (ENIP), which includes infrastructure projects throughout Georgia. The project provides construction/expansion of over 500 km of transmission lines and 5 substations.
ENIP's estimated total investment is EUR 270 million.
