French Ambassador to Georgia Diego Colas
posted on his Facebook page on Tuesday, he would end his term as Ambassador to Georgia in mid-October.
"The time to leave is close. I will end my term as Ambassador to Georgia in mid-October to take up my new position as Director of Legal Affairs of the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs in Paris.
I am greatly honored and moved by this appointment. I indeed have great fondness for this directorate where I served about half my career. Moreover, in these days of aggression and crimes, I believe that the battle for international law, European law, fundamental rights, the Rule of Law is more than ever at the heart of our diplomacy.
It is also a moment for melancholy as I cannot leave without emotion Georgia the magnificent, its people and history, its cities, mountains and vineyards, and my extraordinary team with whom we went through so much", - Georgia Diego Colas wrote.
