French cognac “Napoleon” will appear on the Georgian market starting in April, according to Natia Karichashvili, Director of Winery Kachreti. The project is being carried out in partnership with French cognac expert Jérôme Tessendier. The cognac spirit will be imported from France, fully processed and bottled in Kachreti, with labels highlighting both countries of origin.

Initial sales will start at the company’s Melikishvili store, followed by nationwide distribution. Production volumes will depend on demand, and pricing has not yet been set. Karichashvili notes strong consumer interest and high expectations surrounding the collaboration.

The director emphasizes that producing cognac outside France is unprecedented and became possible due to long-standing cooperation with Tessendier. The product will officially bear the name “cognac,” not “brandy,” which the company considers a major achievement.

“Napoleon” is a protected French designation originating from the Cognac region, known for strict regulation and centuries-old production traditions. The project uses raw material from Tessendier & Fils Distillery, one of the region’s major producers. The company previously reported receiving orders for several million bottles.
