The Government of Georgia, ministries, and public agencies purchase fuel from the main oil companies operating in the country on the basis of a consolidated tender. Based on the agreement between the parties, the purchase price is updated every month based on a special formula. As of May 2024, the price of fuel increased by 3.69% compared to the previous month, and for regular fuel, it amounted to GEL 2.81.
According to the contract, the cost is determined based on the average price of one ton of gasoline recorded at the PLATTS EUROPEAN MARKET during the month, as well as the GEL exchange rate, excise and VAT taxes.
Prices By Fuel Prices:
Regular - May price - 2.81 GEL, April - 2.71 GEL, an increase of 2.81%;
Premium - May price - 2.84 GEL, April - 2.73 GEL, an increase of 3.88%;
Super - May price - 3.12 GEL, April - 3.02 GEL, an increase of 3.31%.
As for fuel prices for ordinary consumers, it is on average 30-50 tetri more expensive than the mentioned prices.
