According to a recent report from the Statistical Committee of Armenia, August 2024 saw changes in fuel prices compared to the previous year.
The statistics indicate that gasoline prices rose by 3.2% compared to August 2023. Diesel fuel experienced an even sharper increase, with prices rising by 5.4% over the same period.
In the short term, from July to August 2024, gasoline prices continued to rise, increasing by 1.6%. However, diesel fuel showed a slight decrease, dropping by 1.2% over the month.
Interestingly, despite the annual rise, both fuel types have seen a decline in prices compared to December 2023. Gasoline prices fell by 7.3%, while diesel dropped by 7.8%.
In a broader context, the non-food goods market showed an overall downward trend. In August 2024, prices in this sector fell by 1.6% compared to the same month in the previous year and by 0.6% compared to July 2024.
