Fuel prices are rising again in Georgia amid higher oil prices on international markets. Over the past week, prices for different types of fuel at most major branded filling station networks have increased by 3–16 tetri. Since early August, various fuel types have become 13–71 tetri more expensive.
At Gulf, prices were last increased on September 17. Super and regular petrol rose by 6 tetri, while diesel increased by 16 tetri. Current prices range from GEL 3.85 for Euro Regular to GEL 4.49 for G-Force Super, while diesel costs GEL 4.65–4.75.
At Wissol, prices have been adjusted twice in the past two days, with petrol increasing by 5 tetri and diesel by 15–16 tetri. Current prices include GEL 3.84 for Euro Regular, GEL 4.04 for Eco Premium, GEL 4.47 for Eco Super and GEL 4.66–4.78 for diesel. At Connect, prices rose by 15–20 tetri over the past week, with Regular at GEL 3.75, Premium at GEL 3.90, Super at GEL 4.10 and diesel at GEL 3.60–4.45. At SOCAR, prices were last adjusted on September 10, with current petrol prices ranging from GEL 3.75 to GEL 4.40 and diesel from GEL 4.48 to GEL 4.58.
Current prices at other major networks are GEL 3.83–4.48 at Lukoil and GEL 3.84–4.75 at Rompetrol. Industry representatives expect fuel prices to rise further in September, citing higher international oil prices and more expensive new supply contracts. The Union of Oil Product Importers also expects fuel consumption to increase. According to the industry, prices had declined through early July as international oil markets stabilized, but renewed tensions in the Middle East have since pushed prices higher.
