Gazprom Armenia has announced a temporary suspension of Russian gas supplies to Armenia from the morning of November 13 until the evening of November 14, due to emergency repair work on the transit pipeline in Georgia. The company assured that uninterrupted gas supply for consumers will be maintained through internal reserves and additional deliveries from Iran.
Urgent repairs are scheduled on the "Kazakh - Saguramo" section of the "North Caucasus - Transcaucasia" main gas pipeline in Georgia. Gas supply will be halted from 10:00 AM on November 13 to 10:00 PM on November 14, according to the company’s statement.
Gazprom Armenia, a subsidiary of Russia’s Gazprom and the sole supplier of Russian gas to Armenia, will ensure gas provision for all consumers in the country. "This will be achieved through the use of internal reserves and increased gas supplies from Iran," the company’s press service stated.
It is worth noting that Russian gas is supplied to Armenia via transit through Georgian territory at a price of $165 per thousand cubic meters at the border. Gazprom Armenia manages the full gas cycle within Armenia—from transportation to storage and distribution—and is also responsible for modernizing the gas transmission system and storage facilities.
