Gas transit through Georgia increased slightly in 2025, according to official data from the Georgian Oil and Gas Corporation. A total of 25.165 billion cubic meters (bcm) of gas was transported via Georgian pipelines last year, compared to 25.118 billion cubic meters in 2024.

The South Caucasus Pipeline (SCP) carried 22.933 bcm in 2025, up by 103 million cubic meters from the previous year. Transit through this pipeline has doubled since 2020, rising from 11.1 bcm to 22.9 bcm. The SCP transports gas from the Shah Deniz field in Azerbaijan to Turkey and Europe via the Baku–Tbilisi–Erzurum route.

Meanwhile, the North–South Gas Pipeline (NSGP), which carries Russian gas to Armenia, transported 2.229 bcm in 2025, slightly less than in 2024. The Georgian section of the NSGP is 234 km long, with a design capacity of 12 bcm per year.

Overall, the statistics show a minor increase in Georgia’s total gas transit, driven primarily by the South Caucasus Pipeline, reflecting the corridor’s growing importance for energy flows to Turkey and Europe.
