“The Georgian Dream has adopted legislative amendments that permit the dismissal of public servants without any grounds. With these amendments, the Georgian Dream has effectively taken public officials as hostages,” said Giorgi Gakharia, leader of the Gakharia-For Georgia party.
According to Gakharia, since the restoration of Georgia’s independence, public officials have fought for a European future and the integrity of the state.
Giorgi Gakharia addressed public officials directly, saying:
“My friends, when hundreds of thousands of ordinary citizens are peacefully protesting to defend their country’s European future, as well as justice and freedom of expression, remaining silent will jeopardize your future and interests. You must understand that failing to respond to this situation will only empower those who seek to impose further violence. If the public sector does not voice its stance in defence of state interests or forgets the oath of a public servant—an oath that mandates acting in the state’s interests rather than catering to a specific party, individual, or corrupt interests—they will ultimately prevail,” he stated, urging public officials to make a choice.
“I call upon you to make the correct choice that is urgently needed for Georgia, the state, and our citizens, who are standing in the streets. We will stand together, and, undoubtedly, we will win,” he concluded.
