Between 2013 and June 30, 2025, Georgian banks issued GEL 29 million in loans to the bakery sector under the “Preferential Agrocredit” project. According to the Ministry of Environment Protection and Agriculture, the state co-financing provided by the Rural Development Agency (RDA) exceeded GEL 5.5 million during this period.

Minister of Environment Protection and Agriculture Davit Songhulashvili highlighted the figures during a visit to Mtskheta Municipality, where he inspected the frozen bread and pastry factory “Food Alliance” LLC in Natakhtari.

“Food Alliance” is a beneficiary of the Rural Development Agency and has repeatedly used the agrocredit program to expand and modernize production. The company, which produces up to 80 types of baked goods, currently employs 135 people and supplies products nationwide, including to the HoReCa sector and major retail chains. The factory operates with the latest equipment and is certified under the FSSC 22000 international food safety standard.

Songhulashvili emphasized that state programs such as Preferential Agrocredit have played a decisive role in strengthening Georgia’s agricultural sector. “Production volumes are increasing, and Georgian products are gaining recognition both locally and internationally,” the minister noted.

The minister was accompanied by Deputy Minister Kakha Kakabadze, State Representative in Mtskheta-Mtianeti Aleksandre Zagashvili, MP Dimitri Khundadze, and local government officials.
