The Georgian Amelioration Company has announced a GEL 7.7 million tender for the rehabilitation and reconstruction of a distributor within the Upper Alazani irrigation system in Akhmeta Municipality.
The irrigation system has been operating since 1977. The pipelines and wells at the G-7 distributor are currently worn out, disrupting water supply and preventing the full irrigation of agricultural land east of Matani village.
The project includes replacing the deteriorated pipelines, constructing regulating and drainage wells, and installing modern hydrants for water intake. Following rehabilitation, the system will ensure a stable water supply for the irrigation network.
The project is expected to enable the reliable irrigation of up to 380 hectares of agricultural land. The tender value is GEL 7,731,929, the deadline for submitting bids is September 25, and the project is to be completed within 704 days.
