Georgia’s Economy Minister Mariam Kvrivishvili met with Abdulaziz Zayed Al Shamsi, Regional CEO of Abu Dhabi Ports Group, during the Georgia International Maritime Forum. The sides discussed the UAE-based group’s investment projects in Georgia.
The meeting covered the Tbilisi Dry Port project, in which Abu Dhabi Ports Group is a major investor. The facility is designed to connect the South Caucasus with Central Asia and support the development of the Middle Corridor. The sides also discussed the project’s next stages.
Anaklia Deep Sea Port was another key topic. Kvrivishvili and Al Shamsi reviewed ongoing construction works and the port’s development under the landlord model, which separates state infrastructure from private terminal operations.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Economy Minister Genadi Arveladze, Georgian Railway CEO Lasha Abashidze and UAE Ambassador to Georgia Ahmed Ibrahim Ahmed Taher Al Nuaimi.
