The focus of the meeting will be revealed later, but current data already shows notable trends in the two countries’ economic cooperation.

Investment and Tourism
Romanian foreign direct investment (FDI) in Georgia remains modest. In 2024, Georgia received $520,000 in investments from Romania, compared to $450,000 in 2023. In the first quarter of 2025, only $143,000 in FDI was recorded.
Tourism flows are also relatively small but show steady growth. In the first half of 2025, 3,860 visitors came to Georgia from Romania, a 6.7% increase year-on-year. Last year, the total number of Romanian visitors reached 8,246, up from 6,545 in 2023.
Georgia’s economic ties with Romania are strengthening, particularly in trade, where imports of oil and petroleum products play a central role. Exports remain modest but stable, with fertilizers leading the list. Although FDI and tourism figures are still limited, the growing dynamics highlight opportunities for further cooperation.
