In Kuala Lumpur, during the International Civil Aviation Negotiations (ICAN 2024) organized by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), an air traffic agreement was signed between the governments of Georgia and the Republic of Seychelles.
The Air Traffic Agreement is structured on liberal principles, imposing no restrictions on the number of designated airlines or destinations. This framework encourages airlines to establish direct regular flights between Georgia and Seychelles, enhancing tourism and trade relations between the two nations.
The agreement will take effect once both parties complete their domestic procedures.
Discussions regarding this agreement began in 2014, with significant progress made last year at ICAN 2023 in Saudi Arabia, where a memorandum of understanding was signed and initiated.
ICAN 2024 in Malaysia will continue until October 25, featuring additional bilateral meetings and negotiations with various international delegations.
