In 2024, the number of parcels bought by Georgia from abroad doubled and reached 15.1 million, - accoridng to the statistics provided to BMG by the Revenue Service. The total value of these parcels exceeded 1.4 billion GEL, which was 2.7 times higher than the total value of goods arriving as parcels in 2023.
According to the statistics, the value of 96% or 14,527,305 parcels, was less than 300 GEL, the total value of these parcels was 693 million GEL, respectively, the average price of one parcel was 47.7 GEL.
The number of parcels worth more than 300 GEL was 590,691, and their total price was 747,130,131 GEL. Accordingly, the average cost of one parcel in this segment was 1,265 GEL.
The increase in the number of parcels in Georgia in 2024 is likely to be related to the activation of operations in the country of the Chinese online trading giant Temu, which operates in the ultra-budget parcel segment. Subscriptions from Shien have also been activated. The Turkish online trading company Trendyol is also actively represented in the Georgian market, and in 2024, Russian operators Ozon and Widlberries entered Georgia, whose services are used by migrants entering the country.
