Georgia Bought USD 44.5 MLN Worth Of Oil; 87% Accounts For Russia

Sunflower oil exports to Georgia are growing. According to Geostat, in 11M24 the country bought 41,607 tons of the product worth USD 44.5 million, which exceeded the figure for last year both in quantity and value.

In particular, compared to the same period in 2023, when 36,967 tons of oil worth $39.9 million were exported to Georgia, the value increased by 11.6%, and the quantity by 12.6%.

The main supplier of sunflower oil is Russia. According to 11-month data, Russia accoutns for 87% of total exprots to Georgia.

TOP-5 countries by oil exports to Georgia:

Russia - USD 37.6 million, 36,315 tons;

Ukraine - USD 5.1 million, 3,943 tons;

Azerbaijan -USD 1.4 million, 1,065 tons;

Hungary - USD 295.7 thousand, 158 tons;

Turkey - USD 121.1 thousand, 88.5 tons.

On the contrary, oil exports have decreased. In January-November 2024, 10 tons of oil worth $35.6 thousand were exported from Georgia, while last year 1,637 tons of oil worth $1.7 million were sold.

According to 11-month data, USA is the main exporting market from Georgia. Georgian sunflower oil is sold in the following countries:

USA - 19 thousand USD, 6.5 tons;

Russia - 7.9 thousand USD, 1.6 tons;

Germany - 4 thousand USD, 0.97 tons;

Czech Republic - 2.2 thousand USD, 0.57 tons.
