Georgia's IT sector continues to post rapid growth, with export revenues reaching $441.3 million in the first quarter of 2026, up by 65% year-on-year, according to the National Bank of Georgia. The sector generated an additional $175 million compared to the same period last year, following a record 2025, when annual IT export revenues climbed by 67% to $1.15 billion.

Industry representatives say the growth is increasingly being driven by rising international demand for IT services developed in Georgia. Speaking to BMG, Dati Chkhikvishvili, Business Development Lead at Redberry International, said the company is almost entirely export-oriented, with around one-third of its clients in the UK, another third in the United States, and the remainder across Western Europe, Scandinavia, and the Middle East. He noted that Georgia's competitive pricing, combined with high-quality services, has made the country increasingly attractive to international clients.

Chkhikvishvili said Georgia is now far more visible on the global IT map than it was several years ago. He credited the arrival of major international companies, including EPAM, with raising industry standards and increasing awareness of Georgia as a technology destination. At the same time, growing global demand for digital products has encouraged international companies to seek new outsourcing destinations that offer quality services at competitive costs, helping Georgia emerge as an alternative to more established IT hubs such as the Baltic states, Romania, and Bulgaria.

While the sector's rapid expansion in previous years was largely fueled by the relocation of thousands of Russian, Ukrainian, and Belarusian IT professionals to Georgia, industry representatives say current growth is increasingly supported by the expanding international demand for Georgian IT products and services.
