Georgia has fulfilled around 90% of its obligations under the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area (DCFTA), Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze told journalists.
He said fulfilling obligations under the Association Agreement and DCFTA is the Georgian government’s responsibility on the country’s path toward European integration. “Two or three years ago, we had fulfilled around 60–65% of the obligations stemming from the Association Agreement and DCFTA. Now, we have fulfilled around 90%,” Kobakhidze said.
According to the prime minister, the government’s responsibility is to continue meeting the commitments associated with European integration. He said the progress from around 60–65% to 90% demonstrates the work carried out by the government.
Kobakhidze added that the European Commission and European bureaucracy also have responsibilities. “Their responsibility is to act in a healthy and fair manner toward the Georgian people, our country and our state, which they have been unable to do,” he said.
