Georgia imported 9,417 electric vehicles worth $135.3 million in January-August 2026, according to official statistics. The value of imports increased by 47.6% year-on-year, compared with 5,361 electric cars worth $91.7 million imported in the same period of 2025.
The United States remained the country’s main supplier, with imports from the US increasing by 74.5% year-on-year. The top five suppliers were the US with $99.3 million and 7,645 vehicles; China with $18.7 million and 908 vehicles; Germany with $7.2 million and 71 vehicles; Japan with $5.5 million and 583 vehicles; and Canada with $1.5 million and 110 vehicles.
Smaller volumes of electric vehicles were also imported from Austria, Ukraine, Sweden and Turkey during the eight-month period.
Meanwhile, Georgia re-exported 752 electric vehicles worth $17.66 million in January-August, down 26.7% year-on-year.
