Georgia Launches eKalata.gov.ge Platform to Track Discounted Food Prices

2323

Georgia has launched a new website, ekalata.gov.ge, which allows consumers to compare discounted prices on essential food products across major retail chains in one place.

The platform, presented on June 24 by the Competition and Consumer Agency, is designed to improve transparency under the government’s “family basket” program. It provides centralized information on special offers for basic goods, making it easier for citizens to find the lowest available prices.

The website covers 13 staple food items available across 12 major retail networks. Users can compare prices, identify the best deals by category, and build a personalized shopping basket showing total estimated costs.

According to officials, the project aims to improve access to price information and strengthen consumer protection. The development of the platform cost around 53,000 GEL.
