The European Union’s High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas, said that Georgia was not invited to the recent EU ministerial meeting, adding that Visa suspension for Georgia will be discussed late this year.
“As you know, we have proposed several measures under different sanction regimes. So far, we have not been able to finalize them because not all member states have been supportive,” Kallas stated.
She also noted that the European Commission plans to present its visa suspension mechanism later this year, which will include proposed changes to visa regulations for certain groups. “It is not my direct competence, so I will not comment in detail,” she added.
