During a recent visit by a Georgian parliamentary delegation to Yerevan on September 2, a meeting took place between the Chairman of the Georgian Parliament’s Foreign Relations Committee, Nikoloz Samkharadze, and Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan.
According to the Georgian Parliament’s press service, a key point of the meeting was Samkharadze's statement that Tbilisi is ready to share its experience of European Union integration with Yerevan. Additionally, the Georgian side expressed its willingness to contribute to the normalization of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
The discussions also covered issues of bilateral cooperation, particularly the importance of strategic partnership and the prospects for developing economic ties. Special attention was given to regional security and measures to create a sustainable peaceful environment in the region.
Minister Mirzoyan, for his part, reaffirmed Armenia’s support for Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
The visit of the Georgian delegation also included a joint meeting of the foreign relations committees of the two countries’ parliaments. Additionally, the Georgian parliamentarians were received by the Speaker of the Armenian Parliament, Alen Simonyan.
