Georgia Received New Stocks Of Javelin in 1Q2022 – Gov’t

The Georgian government submitted a report to the parliament, which says that the country received new stocks of Javelin from the US in the first quarter of 2022.

"The Ministry of Defense of Georgia continues the process of rearmament of units of the Defense Forces with NATO standards within the framework of US foreign military funding. In 2022, the Ministry of Defense of Georgia has already co-financed the purchase of additional stocks of Javelin. Tactical equipment is currently being upgraded with US assistance," the Georgian government said in a statement.

We are talking about Javelin-type anti-tank missiles. The total cost of this system is USD 26.2 million.

• JAVELIN rocket FGM-148E - 82 units;
• JAVELIN launcher- 46 units;
• Anti-tank missile - 46 units;
• Also accompanying equipment and services.

Georgia first purchased the Javelin anti-tank missile system from the United States in 2018 and the Department of Defense paid USD 75 million for 72 FGM-148 Javelin launchers and 410 missiles.
