Georgia plans to invest USD 7 billion in major transport, logistics and infrastructure projects by 2032, according to Economy Minister Mariam Kvrivishvili. The minister made the announcement during a panel discussion at the Second Trans-Caspian Transport Corridor and Connectivity Investors Forum.

Kvrivishvili emphasized that coordinated financing is essential to fully unlock the transport and logistics potential of Central Asia, the Caspian region, the South Caucasus and the Black Sea. She stressed that large-scale infrastructure development requires not only the participation of international financial institutions but also increased engagement from the private sector.

“Georgia will invest USD 7 billion in major transport, logistics and infrastructure projects by 2032. Achieving this ambition requires not only the continued involvement of international financial institutions, whose experience and long-term capital are irreplaceable, but also a stronger mobilization of private sector investments. Only through a well-coordinated partnership between public and private financing participants will it be possible to establish modern, efficient and sustainable networks in the region that today's global economy requires,” Kvrivishvili stated.

According to the minister, the investment package includes the development of the Anaklia deep-sea port, the full modernization of the Georgian railway, the expansion and construction of key highways, and the development of a new international airport in Vaziani.
