In 2026, the State Company “United Airports of Georgia” will spend GEL 37.9 million on security services at Tbilisi, Batumi, and Kutaisi International Airports, as well as the airports in Telavi, Mestia, and Ambrolauri. The contract for these services has already been signed with the State Security Police. For comparison, the service cost GEL 33.2 million in 2025 and GEL 24.2 million in 2024.
Under the contract, a total of 1,099 security personnel will be responsible for ensuring airport safety. The head of the Aviation Security Department will receive a monthly salary of GEL 10,151, up from GEL 8,200 in 2025. The overall security staff will also expand from 888 to 1,099 employees in 2026.
Legally, all airports in Georgia are owned by the Airports of Georgia. Among the international airports, Tbilisi and Batumi are operated by TAV Holdings via the ADP Group, while Kutaisi, Mestia, Telavi, and Ambrolauri are operated directly by Airports of Georgia.
According to the concession agreements, the Airports of Georgia is responsible for airport security and signs the relevant contract with the State Security Police to provide these services.
