The international consulting company Salt Projects is managing six projects in the hospitality sector in Georgia and abroad.
As the company’s founders Valeri Chekheria and Levan Berulava stated on the BMGTV program “Tsertili”, the total cost of the projects amounts to several hundred million dollars.
In addition to Georgia, Salt Projects is currently working in the USA, Singapore, Italy and Armenia.
One of Salt Projects’ first projects is a 46-room hotel-spa complex in the United States, in the city of Hudson in the upper part of New York State, which is in the opening phase and will officially open next year. The investment value of the project is up to USD 75 million.
The company’s founders said they have been working on the project for three years and are also managing partners.
“A harmonious concept, local farmers’ products, wellness and gastronomic directions – all these create a unique experience for guests,” noted Valeri Chekheria.
Salt Projects also has one ongoing project in Armenia. According to the company’s founders, the construction of a hotel complex is already underway and is expected to be completed in May next year.
“The complex is being built in Vayots Dzor – a region in Armenia famous for its winemaking traditions, just like Kakheti in Georgia. It is a mountainous region, rich in nature and canyons. When we first arrived, we remembered the time when we were starting to create Rooms Kazbegi.
The project belongs to an Armenian businessman who lives in Los Angeles and contacted us. The whole emphasis is on wine, there will also be a spa, a concert hall, etc. The project is developing very quickly. On our recommendation, a Georgian architect is working on it. We are very excited that we have started such a project in the neighborhood,” said Valeri Chekheria and Levan Berulava, adding that they hope to receive orders for similar projects from Azerbaijan as well.
According to the founders of Salt Projects, concepts for hotel complexes are also being developed in Singapore and Italy, and the investment cost of each project is several tens of millions of dollars.
“We are working with one of the largest Italian businessmen, who owns the Italian cosmetic brand Davines. Currently, we are developing the concept of a hotel complex, which will be built in the city of Parma,” said Levan Berulava.
“Another project, the concept of which we are developing, is related to Singapore. Our partner in this project was one of the partners of the US project. We are only at the concept stage and hopefully we will move on to the second phase,” added Valeri Chekheria.
As for Salt Projects’ activities in Georgia, the company’s founders said they are working on a total of four projects, three in Tbilisi and one restaurant project in Batumi.
“We also have three ongoing projects of hotel and multifunctional complexes in Tbilisi. We are ready to increase the portfolio of Salt Projects, which means creating and developing new projects or managing existing hotels,” said the company’s founders.
