Commercial banks operating in Georgia earned a combined GEL 2.4 billion in net profit during the first nine months of 2025, according to financial statements submitted to the National Bank of Georgia (NBG).
This figure represents an increase of GEL 107 million or 4.6% compared to the same period in 2024.
Bank of Georgia once again topped the ranking, reporting a net profit of 1.2 billion GEL between January and September 2025, an increase of 18% y-o-y.
It was followed by TBC Bank, which posted GEL 904 million in profit, up by 1% y-o-y.
In third place was Liberty Bank, earning GEL 94.5 million, marking a 12% rise compared to the same period last year.
At the other end of the ranking, four commercial banks reported losses.
The largest loss was recorded by VTB Bank, which reported a negative balance of GEL 41 million. VTB’s operations in Georgia have been largely suspended since February 2022 following the international sanctions imposed on its parent group.
