Commercial banks operating in Georgia earned a total profit of 2.98 billion GEL in the first 11 months of 2025, up 126 million GEL, or 4%, compared to the same period last year.
Leading the profit ranking remains Bank of Georgia with 1.5 billion GEL, a 7% annual increase. TBC Bank follows with 1.1 billion GEL (+3% YoY), while Liberty Bank holds third place with 115 million GEL, marking a 12% rise. Other notable performers include Basis Bank and Credo Bank, each with 100 million GEL (+40%) and 81 million GEL (+40%), respectively. Cartu Bank reported 40 million GEL, down 6%, and ProCredit Bank earned 28 million GEL, a 9% decline.
At the lower end of the profit spectrum, four banks operated at a loss. The largest deficit was recorded by VTB Bank at 54.8 million GEL, reflecting the impact of sanctions imposed in February 2022. Silkbank posted a 22.6 million GEL loss, and Heshbank lost 10 million GEL.
Overall, the banking sector shows steady growth in profits among the top banks, while a few institutions continue to face challenges due to regulatory and operational constraints.
