Georgian Coffee Exports Jump 133% — Armenia Becomes Main Export Market

In January–May 2026, Georgia’s coffee exports recorded a sharp increase, according to foreign trade data from Geostat. During the reporting period, the country exported 308 tons of coffee worth $1.6 million, compared to 92 tons worth $692,000 in the same period of 2025. This represents a 132.7% increase in export value and a 234.7% rise in volume year-on-year.

Armenia was the dominant export destination for Georgian coffee. In the first five months of 2026, Georgia exported 284 tons of coffee worth $1.3 million to Armenia alone. Other export markets included Russia with $141,000 (19 tons), the United States with $44,000 (2 tons), Uzbekistan with $22,000 (800 kg), and Poland with $1,800 (100 kg).

At the same time, coffee imports into Georgia also increased. Between January and May 2026, the country imported 3,517 tons of coffee worth $23.3 million, up 12.4% in value and 17.5% in volume compared to the same period in 2025, when imports totaled $20.7 million and 2,993 tons.

Indonesia remained the largest supplier of coffee to Georgia, exporting $7 million worth of 1,602 tons. Other major import partners included Russia ($3.7 million, 421 tons), Vietnam ($3.1 million, 733 tons), Italy ($3 million, 187 tons), Turkey, Germany, India, Austria, France, and Armenia.
