Economist Soso Berikashvili deeply believes that the so-called "Russian law" will harm the Georgian economy.
As the economist explains, with the adoption of the relevant law, it will be difficult for Georgian companies to receive funding from donor organizations, which will ultimately have a negative impact on the economy.
According to Soso Berikashvili, against the background of the current events, lower-than-expected economic growth may be observed in Georgia.
"According to the forecasts of various financial organizations, the economy of Georgia will grow by 5.5% this year. However, when the government takes an unconstitutional decision and confronts the people, it will definitely hurt the country's economy. Georgian business is significantly dependent on funding from donor organizations. Among them, companies receive similar types of assistance through the non-governmental sector. According to this law, the government calls them carriers of the interests of a foreign power. This law creates a danger that the aid of various donor organizations to Georgia will be stopped, which will ultimately harm the economy", said Soso Berikashvili.
