Lasha Khutsishvili, Minister of Finance of Georgia met H.E. María Jesús Montero, Minister of Finance of the Kingdom of Spain on Wednesday within the scope of a Global Forum on Transparency and Exchange of Information for Tax Purposes held by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), which was gathering for the 15th Annual Plenary Meeting on November 9 of the current year in Seville, Kingdom of Spain.
The Minister of Finance of Georgia shared information with his colleague on the measures carried out by the country for tackling the current challenges witnessed in the region. Ministers of Finance highlighted the significance of automated exchange of information on financial accounts between countries for the prevention of avoidance and evasion of tax filing and tax payments.
Dignitaries reviewed the current cooperation of the two countries in the field of taxation and expressed readiness to further deepen interaction.
Meeting was attended by Jesús Gascón Catalán, Director General of the State Agency of Tax Administration of the Kingdom of Spain; Mamuka Baratashvili, Deputy Minister of Finance of Georgia; Marine Khurtidze, Department Head for Tax and Customs Policy at the Ministry of Finance of Georgia; H.E. Ilia Giorgadze, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to the Kingdom of Spain.
