With the support of the National Wine Agency of Georgia and organized by its contractor Vinoveli Inc., 15 Georgian wine tasting events were held at retail outlets and chain stores in the U.S. states of Massachusetts, New York, and New Jersey, the National Wine Agency reported.
According to the agency, each event featured five varieties of Georgian wine from three different wineries in dedicated promotional tasting areas.
The campaign aimed to promote Georgian wine, increase consumer interest, and strengthen its recognition and competitiveness in the U.S. market.
During the events, visitors sampled premium Georgian wines and learned about the country’s 8,000-year winemaking tradition, the diversity of indigenous grape varieties, and the traditional qvevri winemaking method.
The United States remains one of the strategic export markets for Georgian wine, characterized by high quality standards and strong competition. According to the National Wine Agency, a series of marketing campaigns supported by the agency in recent years has significantly contributed to increasing both the visibility of Georgian wine and exports to the U.S. market.
The agency also noted that the U.S. represents one of the highest-value export markets for Georgian wine, where the average export price is approximately $6 per liter.
