Georgia’s 2027 budget draft is based on a 5% economic growth forecast, Deputy Finance Minister Giorgi Kakauridze said. He noted that the document uses conservative assumptions while fully accounting for legally mandated and announced increases in social payments and public-sector salaries.
The draft budget projects a fiscal deficit of 2.5% of GDP, while public debt is expected to decline to around 31.6% of GDP. Total spending under the consolidated budget is planned at GEL 37.6 billion.
Kakauridze said healthcare spending will increase by more than GEL 800 million and education spending by more than GEL 400 million. Pension and disability payments will rise in line with the indexation formula, while salaries will increase across the public sector, including education.
The budget also provides for several new infrastructure projects, including sections of the Tbilisi bypass road, new road construction between Tbilisi and Rustavi, and the Batumi-Sarpi route. Georgia’s economy grew by 7.5% last year.
