Georgia’s apple exports saw an unprecedented surge in the first eight months of 2025, with both export volume and revenue showing sharp increases compared to the same period last year.
According to official data, the country exported 11,124 tons of apples, generating $7.1 million in revenue. This marks a 603% increase in export volume and a 549.2% increase in revenue compared to 2024, when 1,582 tons of apples brought in just $1.1 million.
Russia remains the dominant destination, accounting for 10,727 tons of exports and $6.6 million in revenue.
- Armenia ranks second, importing 180 tons worth $258,000.
- Belarus follows with 157 tons valued at $170,000.
- Kazakhstan received a smaller batch of 60 tons, generating $15,000.
While Russia remains Georgia’s primary market, data shows a steady decline in export volumes to Russia in recent years. BM.GE provides the following four-year statistics:
- 2021 – 15,056 tons ($7.7 million)
- 2022 – 11,658 tons ($7.5 million)
- 2023 – 8,681 tons ($5.5 million)
- 2024 – 8,669 tons ($5.5 million)
Despite this downward trend, the 2025 data highlights a strong rebound in both volume and revenue, suggesting that Georgian apple producers are successfully expanding their export potential and reaching diversified markets beyond Russia.
