Georgia’s 19 commercial banks generated GEL 2.564 billion in net profit in the first eight months of 2026, according to National Bank of Georgia data. The figure is GEL 428.8 million, or 20%, higher than the same period last year.
Bank of Georgia remained the largest profit earner, reporting GEL 1.291 billion in net profit. TBC Bank ranked second with GEL 936.8 million, while Basisbank came third with GEL 97.19 million. Other profitable banks included Liberty Bank with GEL 80.44 million, Credo with GEL 57.57 million and ProCredit Bank with GEL 25.72 million.
Cartu Bank reported GEL 24.86 million in net profit, followed by Terabank with GEL 21.21 million, Halyk Bank with GEL 16.73 million, Isbank with GEL 10.02 million, Crystal Microbank with GEL 10 million, Pave Bank with GEL 8.59 million, Ziraat Bank with GEL 6.38 million, PASHA Bank with GEL 5.83 million and MBC Microbank with GEL 2.21 million.
Four of the 19 banks recorded losses during the period. Silk Bank posted the largest loss at GEL 18.26 million, followed by Hashbank with GEL 7.67 million, VTB Bank with GEL 2.65 million and Paysera with GEL 1.60 million. Meanwhile, the banking sector’s total assets exceeded GEL 115.195 billion, up from GEL 101.877 billion a year earlier, with Bank of Georgia and TBC Bank accounting for 75% of total assets.
