Fish production in Georgia continued to fall in 2025, reaching 2,445 tons, according to Geostat. The figure is slightly below the 2,452.5 tons recorded in 2024, extending a downward trend that has persisted since 2022.
Trout production increased to 1,213.6 tons last year, while carp production declined to 918.1 tons.
Shida Kartli remained the country's largest fish-producing region with 921.1 tons, followed closely by Kakheti with 911.6 tons. Guria ranked third with 155.1 tons, ahead of Samtskhe-Javakheti (119.4 tons) and Imereti (97.5 tons).
Other producing regions included Adjara (87.1 tons), Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti (44.4 tons), while the remaining regions accounted for a combined 109 tons of fish production.
