Georgia’s exports reached $3.1 billion in January–May 2026, marking a 19.8% increase compared to the same period last year, according to trade data. Growth was driven mainly by raw materials and energy products, while re-exported cars remained the largest single export category despite a decline.

Light vehicles still accounted for the biggest share of exports at $735 million, although this segment fell by 25% year-on-year. In contrast, exports of petroleum products surged by 886% to $367 million, alongside strong growth in metal ores, including gold, copper, and ferroalloys.

Among trading partners, Kyrgyzstan remained Georgia’s largest export destination at $355.2 million, followed by China at $327.5 million and Azerbaijan at $269.3 million. Vehicle re-exports dominated shipments to Kyrgyzstan, while resource-based exports played a growing role in overall trade performance.

Other key export items included alcoholic beverages, wine, mineral waters, and fertilizers, with mixed performance across categories. Overall, the data shows a shift toward higher commodity exports alongside continued dependence on re-exported vehicles.
