Georgia’s exports increased by 15% year-on-year in May, reaching USD 668.5 million, according to preliminary foreign trade data released by the National Statistics Office of Georgia (Geostat).
Imports also recorded growth during the month, rising 5% compared with the same period last year to USD 1.56 billion, the report showed.
For the first five months of 2026, Georgia’s exports totaled USD 3.1 billion, marking a 19.8% increase year-on-year. Imports amounted to USD 7.33 billion over the same period, down 1.9% compared with January–May 2025.
Detailed foreign trade statistics will be published on June 19, when Geostat is expected to provide a breakdown of the goods categories that drove growth in both exports and imports.
