Georgia’s Foreign Trade Turnover Reached $17.9 BLN in January-August

Georgia’s foreign trade turnover reached $17.92 billion in January-August 2026, up by 8.3% year-on-year, according to preliminary data from the National Statistics Office of Georgia (Geostat).

Exports amounted to $5.42 billion during the first eight months of the year, marking a 22.1% increase compared with the same period of 2025. Imports reached $12.49 billion, up by 3.3% year-on-year.

The country’s negative trade balance stood at $7.07 billion, accounting for 39.5% of total foreign trade turnover during the reporting period.

In August alone, exports increased by 24.7% year-on-year, while imports declined by 3.6%. Geostat will publish detailed and revised foreign trade data for January-August on September 21.
