Georgia’s Insurance Sector Collected GEL 930 MLN in Premiums in 6M26

Georgia’s insurance sector collected GEL 930 million in premiums in the first half of 2026, up by 16% year-on-year, according to data submitted by insurance companies to the Insurance State Supervision Service.

Insurers paid out GEL 429 million in claims during the period, compared with GEL 363 million in H1 2025. Georgia had 19 registered insurance companies as of June 30, all licensed to provide life and non-life insurance.

TBC Insurance and Imedi L ranked joint first by premiums collected, with GEL 151 million each. Aldagi ranked third with GEL 136 million.

The sector generated GEL 189 million in insurance profit and GEL 64 million in net profit in H1 2026. Total industry assets reached approximately GEL 1.874 billion, while total capital increased to around GEL 525 million.
