Georgia’s meat imports increased by 118% year-on-year in the first five months of 2026, according to data from the National Statistics Office.
Between January and May, the country imported 1,070 tons of beef worth USD 5.9 million, compared to 517 tons worth USD 2.7 million during the same period last year.
The top five supplier countries were:
- Belarus – 543.5 tons worth USD 3.02 million;
- Ukraine – 470.3 tons worth USD 2.3 million;
- Russia – 48.3 tons worth USD 260,400;
- United States – 4.4 tons worth USD 151,500;
- Australia – 1.9 tons worth USD 87,900.
In addition, Georgia imported 2,553 tons of frozen beef worth USD 11.2 million during the January–May period.
