Georgia’s Medicine Imports Increase by 23% - Where Do They Come From?

In January–February 2026, Georgia imported $117.4 million worth of medicines, marking a 23% year-on-year increase. Pharmaceutical products remain the country’s fourth-largest import category, accounting for 4.7% of total imports.

Turkey continues to be Georgia’s leading supplier, providing 28% of all imported medicines.

TOP-5 import partners in the first two months of 2026:

  • Turkey — $32.6 million
  • Switzerland — $17.5 million
  • Germany — $16.7 million
  • Hungary — $10.3 million
  • France — $4.7 million

According to official data, Georgia purchased $680.3 million in pharmaceuticals last year - a 9.5% increase compared to 2024.
