Georgia’s peach and nectarine exports declined sharply in the first six months of 2026 due to unfavorable weather conditions that reduced both crop quality and volume. According to official statistics, export value fell by 74.5% year-on-year to $972,800, compared with $3.8 million in the same period of 2025.
Export volumes also dropped significantly, from 3,151 tons in January-June 2025 to just 802 tons in 2026. The decline was mainly driven by lower exports to Russia, Georgia’s main peach market.
In the first half of 2026, Georgia exported $582,000 worth of peaches and nectarines (433 tons) to Russia, compared with $3.6 million (583 tons) a year earlier. Armenia became the second-largest market, importing $390,000 worth (367 tons).
Industry representatives say weaker demand in Russia, economic difficulties, and higher logistics and fuel costs have affected exports. Farmers also report lower selling prices, with nectarines currently priced at around GEL 1.8-2 per kilogram and peaches at GEL 2-2.5 per kilogram.
