Geostat has released statistics on Georgia’s minimum living wage for January–November 2025, reporting that the subsistence minimum stands at 255 GEL ($94) per month, an increase of 23 GEL, or 10%, compared to the previous year.
The statistical office publishes two types of minimum living wages. The first reflects the average resident, currently at 255 GEL per month. The second applies to a working-age male, which is set at 288 GEL ($106) per month, marking a 10% annual increase of 26 GEL.
These figures provide a benchmark for assessing poverty levels, social support programs, and wage policies across the country. The increase over the past year reflects broader economic adjustments, including inflation and changes in the cost of living.
Geostat’s methodology helps monitor trends in living standards, offering valuable insight for policymakers and the public on the minimum financial resources needed for basic subsistence in Georgia.
