According to Geostat, the average monthly number of domestic visitors in Georgia reached nearly 1.3 million in the first quarter of 2026, who carried out about 1.6 million visits across the country.
The number of visitors increased by 2% year-on-year, while the number of visits rose by 5%. Tourist-type visits also grew by 6.6%, reaching an average of 665,000 per month.
Most visits were recorded in Tbilisi (about 415,000 monthly) and the Imereti region (322,400).
Total average monthly spending on domestic tourism reached GEL 273.6 million, up 13% compared to the same period last year, while average spending per visit increased by 7.4% to GEL 172.7.
