Mr.Gogita Todradze, Executive Director of the National Statistics Office of Georgia held a meeting with the representatives of the Business Association of Georgia (BAG). 2024 Population and Agricultural Census was discussed at the meeting.
During the meeting, Mr.Gogita Todradze provided detailed information about 2024 Census. According to him 2024 Population and Agricultural Census will be conducted from November 14 to December 19. The census includes 2 stages:
In the first stage, from November 14-23, the data will be collected by the self-registration method (CAWI). Self-registration is a data collection method where respondents fill out questionnaires electronically themselves, without interviewers, via a computer/tablet/smartphone, using a standard internet browser. Using this method is convenient for respondents who do not want interviewer's visit at home or do not have enough time for a face-to-face interview.
National Statistics Office of Georgia has created a special web platform, which is integrated on Geostat's website, for those who prefers self-registration https://census2024.geostat.ge/en/
In the second stage, from November 29 to December 19, the data will be collected by the Geostat interviewers through door-to-door method, using tablets.
As part of the Census, accurate and up-to-date data will be available on population size, age and sex structure, various demographic and socio-economic characteristics, as well as on the agricultural activity of households at the level of self-governing units and settlements.
