Former head of the Co-Investment Fund, Giorgi Bachiashvili declares, that an expertise conducted in Germany confirmed the authenticity of the recording and identified Bidzina Ivanishvili's voice. He stated this to journalists after the court session ended.
The case concerns a recording of Bachiashvili's phone conversation with Bidzina Ivanishvili, dated 2015. Giorgi Bachiashvili said in an interview with TV-program Analytics that the Samkharauli Expertise Bureau could not identify Ivanishvili's voice, and therefore, the court deemed the evidence inadmissible.
"I couldn't read the expertise in detail, as it's a 92-page document and it was only received and translated yesterday. I can briefly say that the expertise confirms the authenticity of the recording, the expertise identified both my and Ivanishvili's voices, as indicated in the sample disk provided by the prosecutor's office. They conducted a very professional study, using multiple programs and have indicated specific coefficients," - said Bachiashvili.
According to him, today testimony was given by a witness whom Bachiashvili approached for a loan, just as he did with Bidzina Ivanishvili.
"Today, an independent witness testified in court, who is my friend and investor, we have often acted together as investors. He gave me a certain amount of loan in 2015. To many questions from the prosecutor, he clearly defined the difference between a loan and an investment, and after several reversed questions, he clearly stated to the court that I was looking for a loan, I approached him as a loan provider, just as I approached Bidzina Ivanishvili to mediate at 'Cartu' so that I could get a loan", - stated Giorgi Bachiashvili.
