Giorgi Bachiashvili, the former General Director of the Georgian Co-Investment Fund, alleged during a court hearing that Anri Okhanashvili, head of the State Security Service, was on board the same flight that transported him back to Georgia.
According to Bachiashvili, his return to Georgia was the result of an abduction, which he claimed was conducted in violation of all legal norms. He stated that he was forcibly taken, with a bag placed over his head, and brought into the country against his will.
Bachiashvili further alleged that the operation was orchestrated by Bidzina Ivanishvili and carried out by the State Security Service.
“This was an illegal operation. I was abducted and brought back to Georgia in a manner that violates both national and international law,” Bachiashvili told the court.
Neither the State Security Service nor Anri Okhanashvili has publicly responded to the allegation at the time of publication.
