According to Giorgi Bachiashvili, the main reason why the bank did not provide banking secrets to Ivanishvili's prosecutor's office is that the ongoing process against him is unfounded. That is why the bank did not participate in the "poorly crafted case."
On Tuseday, Bidzina Ivanishvili's lawyer Lasha Kalandadze has issued another statement regarding the Swiss bank Julius Baer.
According to the lawyer, Giorgi Bachiashvili, the former CEO of the Co-Investment Fund, has a bank account at Julius Baer, whom Ivanishvili has been suing since the summer of 2023. As Ivanishvili's lawyer writes, the investigation has asked the relevant Swiss authority about the turnover of funds on Giorgi Bachiashvili's bank accounts, but the bank has not provided the aforementioned confidential information.
"This man doesn’t even have a decent lawyer around to explain to him that when requesting information about a private individual from Switzerland, you need to provide at least some basic justification.
